Stay away knob stems break after one year

I have had nothing but issues with the unit's knobs. Kitchen Aid only warrantied the knobs for one year. We had an extended warranty with Loews. Once that expired we had to pay over $300 to have the stems replace. The range is four years old and all front knobs have now been replaced at least once.

My wife and I spent over $6,500 on all new KitchenAid Architect Series II hi-line appliances when renovating our kitchen 2 years and 10 months ago. This was the first time we had ever chosen top rated (with the cost associated) appliances, thinking we would not have to replace them for many years. Within the first year, the refrigerator had two ice making systems installed, plus two vegetable crisper handles replaced all under warranty. One of those broke recently. Since then there have been two more ice makers installed. Then our dishwasher stopped draining as the pump failed. Today, after our gas stove ovens (yes, the double oven) would not light, a service tech tells us the motherboard is done, due probably to the heat from the design. We thought it would just be the igniters. Service calls after the warranties expired (we were told that due to the quality we would not need an extended warranty) we have spent over $1,200 in service calls and parts to keep these "hi-line" appliances going. We are empty nesters, so there are no excessive use issues. If you dare purchase these, buy every warranty you can get your hands on as you will surely need them. We are so disappointed in the brand and quality. Every tech told us that today's appliances all have pretty much the same parts and to buy cheap instead of higher quality. And you should have seen some of the service tech's that were sent for the warranty issues, some 100 miles away when there were plenty of good quality ones close by.. KitchenAid has lost us forever as a customer. Caveat Emptor. You have been warned.

This purchase replaces a two oven stove we had for twelve years. That was a key factor in choosing this unit because we enjoy the convenience of having two ovens. The unit is sleek and modern in design and it matched our current decor of stainless steel appliances. The range top layout has five burners, although the griddle burner in the middle will work best when no more than two of the other burners are in use. It does come with a small griddle that would never meet the needs of just the two of us and we have a larger one of our own. The elliptical shaped burner will heat the griddle evenly, rather than having to perch it over two conventional burners. The keypad is well designed and has a very clear display panel. Both ovens have a "keep warm" setting which is a nice feature. There is also a setting for proofing bread that we will be trying. Both ovens heat up quickly and hold temperature well. This unit has timers to turn the unit on and then off, that you can set. We found it easy to clean, which is a pleasant surprise for a stainless steel top. There are more features but this gives you a good idea of why we like it.

This is the best range you never owned. We love the way you can adjust the oven temperature plus or -5°to change the oven temperature to run hotter or cooler. We found our oven set at just 350°was actually 345°. We were able to adjust the temperature of 5°so that the oven cut at the precise temperature needed. We cut a lot of roles cupcakes and they've turned out better with this oven that made it in our last. The temperature is so even though it doesn't really matter where you place the food on the shelf. Or allow you to put two pans of roles on the same shelf and they both the equally.
